Live Gold Prices is committed to providing accurate, real-time precious metals pricing. All price data displayed on this site is sourced from established, institutional-grade data providers. No prices on this site are estimated or editorially determined.
Live Spot Prices
Real-time gold, silver, and platinum spot prices are delivered via a PubNub streaming feed provided by OWNx, a U.S.-based precious metals dealer and custodian. Prices update continuously during market hours and reflect current bid pricing in the global spot market.
Live spot prices appear in the following areas of this site:
- Homepage header price ticker
- Gold and silver performance table headers (left sidebar)
- “Today” row in each performance table
- Price of Gold by Weight table
- Sidebar price widgets on article and interior pages
Historical Performance Data
Historical reference prices used for performance calculations (30-day, 6-month, 1-year, 5-year, and 20-year comparisons) are sourced from the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) fixing prices via the Xignite GlobalMetals API.
Specifically, we use the LBMA PM (Evening) fixing price for each lookback date. The LBMA Gold and Silver Price auctions are administered by ICE Benchmark Administration (IBA) and are widely recognized as the global benchmark for precious metals pricing.
Performance reference prices are refreshed monthly.
Annual Historical Gold Prices
Year-end gold prices displayed in the Historical Gold Prices widget are sourced from the LBMA PM fixing on the last trading day of each calendar year, retrieved via the Xignite GlobalMetals API. Where no PM auction was held on the final trading day (as is common on December 31), the most recent available LBMA fixing price is used.
